Arizona Chickens

If she is becoming a habitual egg eater, then I would either separate her from the other's so that the only egg that she can eat will be her own, or introduce her to the stew pot.
Well hopefully its only one of them, and i can attach an add on extension that separates the perpetrator. My daughter thinks its Minnie, my favorite!!! 😭

Yep, raw land with no water or septic, but hey, they have an HOA. Not sure what that's all about.
supposedly HOAs are designed to protect property values (HA) so maybe they have to create an HOA so people can get financing to build??? I live in a retirement community with an HOA who's web site says "call the county". a powerless HOA that exists in name only, and is voluntary. I wish it were easier to find property/homes withOUT HOAs than with them!

You can see which ones are an active vs inactive hoa when there is no management company listed for a subdivision.. so the paperwork exists, but no one is collecting fees or doing enforcement. really county/city codes in populated az areas are pretty restrictive as it is, you can't have piled up cars or 6' weeds, even without an HOA.

I tried separating Minnie, but her and Daisy are attached by the thigh bone. Both were flying into the cage walls without each other. So I've separated Elsa instead.. it is either her or Minnie, so I'll know soon enough. I might just end up with whatever eggs i end up with.

I saw one suggestion to blow out the inside of an egg and fill it w dishsoap.. but it sounds dangerous if they manage to eat any of it.

where would you look for this? I had found mine with a search engine, found their web site and contact info. Is there a more direct way to look up, for those up and coming chicken owners?

I have my real estate license, so w my MLS access i search specifically for either no hoa or $0 hoa fee.. i noticed some of the public portals also let you put in an hoa price range. I've had lots of luck finding homes in very beautiful subdivisions with no HOA for people. Now they still might have CC&Rs, which are attached to the deed, so you still have to request and review those before your inspection period is over. That might be something like.. ranch lots must have minimum home square footage or limit of structures.

Update on the injured barred pulllet. I came out to egg song and other noises this morning and found her on top of the white corrugated plastic! Got her down without incident and she limped away. I put the plastic higher up so she can't roost on it any more. I gave her some metacam last night in her food, having found the poultry dose. Thoughts on her right thumb? Maybe it's higher up her leg. She wants to rejoin her flock and is eating well but obviously needs to be prevented from roosting!

Is that legal?

I don't know, but nobody is going to check or do anything out here. They're camping out and trying to buy mobile homes or whatever to live in so they can move out of the tents. We're seeing mobile homes move down the roads headed out to their camps. They have the mobile home people, the well drilling people, and the septic people working as fast as they can, and they all have a backlog of jobs. And to make things more fun, these people are all after them to get to them faster. They can't keep up. I know someone who does wells, and he told me about how backed up he is, and about the calls he keeps getting to hurry up, which only slow him down.

Big Ben made sure Lacey's eggs will be fertile for me today. She lost a few feathers, but still looks OK.
