Arizona Chickens

Trying to get me to populate my yard with NN! I think it would be fun to have them, but not right now with all these duck eggs looking like they will all hatch!

But I thought that you liked those big green and tan egg's! :gig

About 7 to 8 weeks after Easter. The easy way is to go in and get him off the roost at night. They hardly struggle at all when it is good and dark. Just gently pick him off the roost, and he wakes up in the crate. Randy here comes up and eats out of my hand still like when they were chicks. I have picked him up then, he does not like it, but he lets me. I bet Roger would do the same when he gets to know you. @BlueBaby gives her birds treats in the brooder, they are all pretty tame.
That gives me plenty of time to work with Roger, I think that should work out great.

I've been dreaming about ducks! And NN mixes! Chicken math is at work here -I've calculated a new average eggs per day for March (so far) at 21--- Jan & Feb average eggs per day were only 14+.

I do! Ducks lay big green eggs, too! The people who come here for them call me to see if I have more yet. I do not have to advertise them, they give them to their friends who call me to get on the list I am making. I do not have to take them to the Farmer's market, and they pay me $10.00/doz. So I could use more ducks! Besides, my husband has gone over to the duck side, he loves them. Bought them a new pool the other day so the drakes each have their own. He hates peas, but he is buying them in bulk at Costco, to give to ducks!:lau

Maybe a couple of girl ducks is what you need! By the Bad Boyz harvest, we will know how many ducks and how many drakes. These will be good layers, but mix breed Backyard Mutts.

Need some of Roger's grandbaby NN's?

My DH just took 5 dozen eggs to work for coworkers. I think we might work out a kind of trade to borrow a friend's trailer to move our Mesa coop pieces up to CV in trade for a lot of eggs (he might let us use it for nothing). No reason to sit hours at Farmer's Market when word of mouth gives you enough business - @Parront is right.

How will I learn how to hatch if I keep collecting Roger's grandbaby's :lau. Learning incubating is my 2021 project - by May the eggs per day might be up to almost 30. Half of those I might try hatching or mixed Duck eggs. My DH is busy building coop additions or renovations or constantly improving them.

You could borrow this incubator I am using: NR 360, from Tractor Supply.
