Anybody traveling to Eastern Tennessee/Western North Carolina (Fletcher, to be exact) at any point and willing to bring hatching eggs back with them? Just a thought...Thanks!

Uh, Bluebaby, there may be an interesting genetic thing going on there, but who on earth would want an ugly naked chicken? It's bad enough that some people are breeding naked dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. Even chicken aprons like the ones I put on the Leghorn girls would not be enough for those birds. It's interesting though that they came from out of 2 fully feathered Buff Orpington parent's. There has to be some sort of recessive gene somewhere in the back-lineage of those parent's.

They might though. A while back I read about one of those projects for third-world countries. They are/were trying to come up with a super heat-tolerant turkey and/or chicken to survive the heat in hotter climates.Well, if the SHTF, nobody would want to steal an ugly bird?
They might think, "Hey, no need to pluck this one!"They might though. A while back I read about one of those projects for third-world countries. They are/were trying to come up with a super heat-tolerant turkey and/or chicken to survive the heat in hotter climates.
