Flash flood alert here for downtown Prescott, and Williamson Valley. Chino Valley is probably next. We just got a bucket of rain, maybe an inch in the last hour. So far so good no flood here on Aspen Creek!

I have music here. The two that hatched yesterday ar peeping back and forth to the egg that is pipped and unzipping. It would probably go easier if the chick wasn't trying to hatch out from the bottom of the egg. But--there's one in every crowd.

I hope we get some too. So far just thunder and clouds, and the temperature dropped from 100 to 91.

The waxed egg started a little pip on the pointed end of the egg, but nothing else yet. It'll be Day 22 this evening, so there may still be hope.

Yes, sometimes when they try to hatch at the smaller end of the shell, there's not enough room for the chick's head to move to finish pecking it's way out of the shell on it's own.

It cooled us down from 95 to 67, and we got at least 1/2 an inch maybe more.
