Arizona Chickens

Well, good luck with yours and the plan that you have for them!
I ordered the traditional RI Reds just so see how they are. I will probably sell most of them and just keep 3 pullets for layers. I like the Welbars better than I expected, I am tempted to replace my Barred Holland rooster with the Welbars and that boy. I probably can not get away with 2 roosters here forever, but for a while . . .;)

The new rooster seems to maybe be ok so far. I went out there several time's today and went inside of the coop and run. Each time that I did, he moved out of my way. He's not hurting the girl's, and is eating and drinking right along side of them. I just treated them with some old bread. I had fed them a couple of hour's ago to make sure that the rooster would eat also. He ate, but wasn't greedy with the food.

Yes, I remember her, but I don't think that she ever comes to BYC anymore, unless she's now under another name? Same with Desertchic, that was our first to have the Naked Neck's in AZ. as far as I know.
K, I wondered if she was still doing turkeys. I think I have her # somewhere. She had the coolest set up and a neat repurposed green house from sliding glass doors. She built it up on a mound with a cactus garden around 3 sides, it was brilliant.

Now the darned ant's are out there re-building the anthill's again and gathering up food after the rain. I discovered them as I was walking around the yard picking up stuff that last night's storm had blown around. Got to mix up some more of that Permethrin 10 to take care of those ant's today before they discover the food where the chicken's are.
We have had and other gardening friends talked about the ant issues this year. I should of got this chickens from you that eat ants. What breed was that again?
