It's actually been rather cool up here this weekend. Supposed to be back into the 80s this week. The chicklets are loving it and so are the hoomans.
I certainly don't miss Tucson temps. My husband says he's melting down there. So dramatic.Enjoy those lower temp's whenever you can. Summer's starting and those temp's are about to shoot upwards.
Ideal's web site is impossible. What suddenly got me thinking, was that I saw a picture of a silver leghorn rooster or cockerel, and that reminded me that chicks that had his chick color/pattern, and are male, develop his plumage. So I found other pictures of silver phoenix, including someone showed a link to a picture that looked like they cut and pasted my bird into the picture. I had posted a question to the BYC phoenix thread to get that info. One of the pictures even had the spangling or whatever, the white flecks on the chest that my bird has. When it comes to the mister's it might depend on what breed that they are? I had some before that didn't like the mister's much, but would stand in the water pan's or tub's instead. Have you gone back to the site of the hatchery that your chick's came from to compare the roadrunner to what they carry that is in his coloring? That could help you to figure out what breed that he is.

Yes, as sure as I can be which is pretty sure. I put him on craigslist also. No takers yet of course. An ornamental rooster is not in such high demand.Ok, so you are pretty sure now that's what he is?

True. Before I realized what he was I'd wanted to use him to develop a heat tolerant predator savvy strain, but I cant have roosters, and Phoenix aren't the best layers. This one's pretty calm but I wouldn't want that type of bird--they'd probably want to roost in the neighbor's trees. If I catch him pulling the legbar's crest again, it'll be easier to process him.Rooster's are hard to re-home anyway's, and most of the time you have to luck out on finding someone that happens to have the breed that they are looking for.
