I have separate coops for adults but raise the babies together til they get integrated with the adults, so they actually get along pretty well. The yokos and dwarfs are super mellow birds too and the feisty oegbs have a coop well seperated from the mellow bird coops.

I free range the yokos when they're big enough but the lil birds only get a little pre-bed freedom. Hawks and what not worries.

I breed just for my pleasure in the birds so I tend to give away more then I sell...but they make me happy.

Welcome @ChicksnMore - glad you found us. I had to look up the Olandsk Dwarf - haven't even heard of that one before. You have a nice variety of birds. Do they all get along or do you have to house separately or free range or X? I guess you would have breeding pens for some.

That's a male snowy call duck. Here's a pic with a female snowy in it.

Those look nice. Are they both the same color at hatch?

Yep...the males tend to have a darker bill and the girls a lighter though so you can actually accurately sex them at hatch.

That's great! I hatched some other breed of duck's like that for my next door neighbor during the New Years hatch-a-long that were sexable like that at hatch. They were Welsh Harlequin's. She ended up with 1 girl and 2 boy's, and they sleep with her 2 dog's. I might have to try to hatch some more for her, since she like's those duck's so well.

I've never raised Harlequins but pictures of them remind me of snowys. I just love those colors!

Yes, they are a beautiful color, and I animal sit all of them when they go out of state for the vacation's. There are dog's, duck's, a goat, and some chicken's.

Animal sitting can be fun...kinda like being a grandma, all the fun without the long term work
