In this recipe, you do make your own eggnog (with your own eggs). Then you turn it to punch by adding the soda and ice-cream.Homemade is the best though, especially with your own eggs! Merry Christmas

Funny side story: my husband ventured to make his own eggnog decades ago at his mother's house. He used a dozen eggs and was mixing everything together. Then it came time to add over a cup of sugar. He took it from the canister on the counter only to then find out it wasn't sugar in the canister... it was salt! The whole thing was ruined!Apparently his mom had bought salt in bulk and stored some in the canister.
