https://southwesternprocessing.com/Does anyone know of a place that processes chickens and ducks? When I lived in another state I could just bring them to a processor and pick them up bagged and even labeled for sale, but haven't been able to find anywhere in Arizona to do that.
The UoA has a program for livestock slaughter...don't know if they do chickens and ducks. The ag students do the butchering and processing I believe.Does anyone know of a place that processes chickens and ducks? Silly henHave a crazy hen that must have thought it was spring over here already. She started going broody yesterday and stayed in the nest box that has the 2 white fake egg's in it. She puffed up and tried to peck me when I tried to check for a real one. So I got a stick and forced her out of that box and into the one next to it that only had one fake white egg in it. Then I watch her stay in that box and reach over to try to steal the other 2 fake egg's. She's in the chick grow out pen that is serving as her broody breaking cage for now.
I hope she break's quick soon, too! Last time I had a broody the other hen's were so scared to go in there to lay their egg's and layed them out in the dirt in the pen. She walked around puffed up a doing the funny clucking that broodies do any time she got out to take a break she'd peck any of the other's that came near her.Silly hen. I have a broody girl too. Mines sitting two wooden eggs and being so fierce about it. Hope yours breaks quick.
Wanna be mammas are a riot!I hope she break's quick soon, too! Last time I had a broody the other hen's were so scared to go in there to lay their egg's and layed them out in the dirt in the pen. Once you've had a couple or more broodies you learn what to look for in them so that you can catch them to break right away before they get too deeply into it if you don't want them to hatch any chick's. I caught her at the beginning of it.Wanna be mammas are a riot!
