Arizona Chickens

Welcome nursehelly..

My daughter and I were sitting outside on the lounger when the cat joined the chickens in feasting on the frozen banannas and grapes I put in their dish. Moments later one of the hens jumped up on the lounger and let us pet it. My neighbor is annoyed that we have chickens, always telling me eggs are cheaper at the store and I don't have to clean up chicken poop (which sells on ebay for $60.00 for a 10 lb bag). Well you can't get what we enjoy from our chickens in an egg carton.. Anyone agree?

Hello all! I have been a little busy lately (gross understatement) and haven't had time to get on. Welcome to the new folks!

Our little polish roo is growing into a real rooster. His crow no longer sounds like a heavy smoker. He is looking like he would like to attack us sometimes, too. I am not thrilled about that. He can barely see, and I think that is our only protection. He runs into walls sometimes, but I think I will keep his feathers as is as long as he can find the food, water, and hens. I don't need him to get any more cocky, pun intended.

My husband is talking about taking the older kids to their first 4H meeting soon. It's $11/year! I can't believe any activity is still that cheap.

I hope everyone is doing well!!!

That is too funny about the polish roos ... we have lab like that named Tank because he runs into everything. He has retinal dysplasia so he can't see more than 12 inches.
