Did you happen to read the recent article titled
Worms Produce Another Kind of Gold for Farmers from Dr. Mercola regarding the red worms and their ultimate benefits to saving the world's topsoil. They are some amazing creatures. You mentioning corporate powers and impoverished countries reminded me about it. It's something we've discussed in several of the threads here, but bears mentioning again.
Depending on where you live, I'd offer my help with replacing your clutch. I have the tools and the manual labor. You can find replacement clutches for fairly inexpensive. It's a bit time consuming, and that's where the huge expense always is with the mechanic shops. I'm not a certified mechanic or anything, but I do absolutely all my own work. I've replaced three motors over the years and replaced the same amount of clutches. My '98 4Runner has over 328k miles on it and is running as strong as ever. I know it's considered "rude" to ask an age, so I'll just assume being on SS, you have reached your retirement age. I would much prefer that thought as opposed to you were ruled disabled from an accident or anything. Helping out like this is the least I can do to assist with the generation that built America and saw it through some of the roughest times in our history. PM me if you're interested. My Dad is excellent at hunting down the best deals for parts, too. He works at Peoria Ford and has something like 30 years of experience in the car service industry.
