Arizona Chickens

The best resource in the world for photos and information on individual breeds is feathersite. Most of the breed pages include links to their breed clubs (throughout the world) as well as to some breeders, and usually dozens of photos of adult birds and chicks. Henderson's Chicken Breed Chart (http://www.ithaca.edu/staff/jhenderson/chooks/chooks.html) is a good comparison of most of the common (and some not so common) breeds.
lol stayed up way to late last night daydreaming about what kind of chickens I wanna get next

Does anybody know how to get ahold of Chris (AZ Hen House)? I am trying to call her about some Orloffs she wanted, and I just keep getting a busy signal over and over. I tried searching BYC to send her a PM but didn't have any luck with that either.

thanks all. I just try to take care of any animals as we do need to respect animals that are in our charge. I am hoping to foster this behavior in my kids. As a avid hunter, fisher, outdoorsman. I have a profound respect for nature into taking care of whats given and being sure to give back. Good Karma and all... As for the pullet, I am looking to replace her with another so I can keep the egg number up in a few months. Any disagree? I saw a craigslist over in the NW Tucson area for pullets. I want a healthy lady or two that will blend in with the others. Any ideas or critiques would always be welcome.

Desertmarcy has awesome birds. That might be her ad in Craigslist. You could PM her to see.

Yes, probably my ad if it said NW Tucson. I have some Black Copper Marans pullets for sale right now. Most of them have dark eyes, so not so good for show/breeding, but nice for layers. I sold all the sexlinked pullets---finally

Although I didn't "brew" anything like someone else I know on here... I did whip up a homemade batch of Disoronno today. It tastes almost identical to the original, but it was far, far less expensive. It is roughly $20.00 for a 750ml bottle, while I made this with the Kirkland Signature Vodka and the end result was about $3.00 for the 750ml bottle. It may not be identical, but it's a good enough substitute that I'll keep making it this way!

I'll make that three recommendations for DesertMarcy's birds. I have three Black Coppers from her that are growing and looking beautiful. I couldn't have asked for better, especially for the price I paid. I don't know if they are true to their breed or not, but I'm not showing them, so I don't care. They are here for their eggs.

Just posted on Craig's List for Mesa...

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/zip/3820060388.html

I have 10 laying hens of different varieties that I am not able to care for anymore. If interested please contact me. Only conditions are: you'll need to catch them in their coop, cage or box them and transport from my house. So far they are good producers. I'm getting about 7 to 8 eggs a day. Brown, white and greenish-blue.
