Arizona Chickens

Does anyone in the Tucson or Phoenix area (or the rest of AZ) have a Swedish Flower Hen or a Nankin hen or pullet they would like to sell? I would like to add these breeds to my flock and prefer not to hatch as I live in an area where I can't have roosters and would have to find homes for them. Even just one is enough. My flock is mostly pure breeds from Serama and up size wise. Also have a RP turkey hen with them. Everyone gets along very well. The flock of 30 has about 1000 SF of area to roam in my backyard. They are pets only and get lots of love. I am in Tucson but travel regularly to Tempe and can come to you in other areas.

If you have one or know of anyone who does, please email me at [email protected].
I think of "Swedish" and shiver - how will they do in the heat? I can warm them up much easier than I can keep them cool!!

Oh boy, the hen from FLOWER layer a beautiful green egg today!!! Yee Haa!!!
The Olive Layer did one as well! Wow what a surprise the first day..
HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY.. Now come on blondie and do your blue egg for us..

The Ace Hardware on 22nd Street is willing to order you just about anything. They have an employee I call "The Chicken Guy" who knows his stuff and is great to chat "chicken" with. E of Wilmot.

I'm fighting the urge to get Marans chicks. My year olds just moved in with the big girls so the grow out coop is empty! I already have too many chickens, though.

My leghorns' combs turn purple with humidity too.

Sorry I missed the party. My dear sweet uncle died yesterday and I didn't feel like socializing.

The info on the State Fair on the chicken part.

I dearly would like to attend the auction, anyone else?

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. There will be other party's, as for family there is only 1 of each.

I have Marans, and more coming, lockdown starts tomorrow. I hope to have more peeps, Black Copper, Blue, and Splash, anyone's guess, how many and which.

Right now I have 2 blues, 1 black, 1 lemon cuckoo........... And Sylvia.

I washed the feathers this afternoon. Put them in a pillowcase, secured the opening and washed them, and tumble dry. They are like popcorn. H

It will take a long time but I have started the sorting. Removing left and right handed feathers, tail feathers, and throwing away broken feathers. Later, when I get clear small baggies I will start putting together fly fishing feathers, and craft feathers, a lot of them will make wonderful Moon Rakers, edging, and what not. As in the apron edging. I also started the proses of drying the other feathers. That will be a little harder to do up. Thank you so very much, I will be ready for a long winter night, endless days of no sun, :(snowed in for weeks on end.... Oh! That's right I do not live in the frozen north, or in the middle of isolated mountains.. . I am in a desert!
