Yes, I will put the mirror back in. A friend at work told me that if I put new chicks in with her, she will kill them. She is 2 1/2 weeks old and about the size of a small robin or dove. What you all think? The local feed store was closed today, so I was not able to get any chicks, but I do have an order of partridge cochins shipping the week of the 19th, and an order of Black Jersey Giants shipping ASAP, hopefully early in this week. Will I have to keep them separate until the newer chicks get some size?
She will likely be fine with new chicks, but you will want to watch them at first to make sure. Adding multiple birds is always easier than adding just one.

I do not have a large budget and I really do not care how it looks as long as it works. I figure if I start with my own eggs and it does not work I am not out too much. He is very good at building things and I have an old cooler out in the shed begging to be re-purposed. here is the re-purposed dresser we made into nest boxes...without the straw
No prob, you're in good company here! I am also a jet mechanic, and tend to build a lot of things myself!
