Arizona Chickens

I just did a on line survey about chciken feed.. wheew :cafi Ittook a while..
They stated they will be sending a copon for a free bag.. Probably only 5 pounds..
I received the email too but when I click the link, I got this:

"Thanks for your participation. You didn't qualify to complete the entire survey and will not receive the bag of feed."

I'd be willing to put money down that the free feed would not be ORGANIC feed, so I'm not wasting my time on their survey.

At the end, it was Purina that is sending the feed.. Huh.. Will keep ya posted..

@mac; Did you get as far as when they ask you what type of feed you use?
@CF; yes, I figured it was Purina, but I still want my free bag!

I almost never click on links like the free-food-for-survey because there's so much malicious stuff out there. That said, it seemed legit coming from BYC, but the way they wasted people's time is pretty malicious too. I wonder how much time if you added up all the BYC members that went there and filled out the survey only to be denied? Bah! Anyway, here's what Nifty had to say about it and it's probably worth reading.

Huh, I just did that survey. When I got to the question about what is my primary feed, I put Purina flock raiser. When I hit the continue button, I got a screen that said I was done and didn't qualify for a free bag of feed? I guess that was the wrong answer!
I asked my local feed store for flock raiser the other day because I could not get to TSC and she looked at me crazy and wanted to know who made it. I told her there are a few different brands but I had not used it yet that I found out about it here, she said yeah there is no such thing. I told her yeah there is I saw it at TSC. oh well.

How do you like the Flock raiser?

I just love this forum and the sharing of experience, knowledge and information. Almost every day I learn something interesting and new and I also love sharing things that I have learned. An odd happenstance this morning really highlights the extent of the influence of this shared information. I recently discovered that our subscriptions to old threads did not migrate to the new BYC platform during the transition a couple years ago (I don't know why it took until now to realize this). Anyway, I checked threads I started and found that a couple weeks ago a faculty member in Argentina posted in my old tick thread that he wanted to use my pics of poultry ticks in an atlas of parasitology that they were writing as a teaching tool. I think it's cool!

I can say Gallo that you are one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met and know so much about chickens and plants. Now that I know you are a biologist it makes sense. I think you should give tours of aquaponics system and probably your coop for in urban farmers. You deserve the accolades.

Oh, that is sweet of you to say, but there are people on this thread that know far more about chickens than I. Plants too for that matter.

I do like to learn and share though. It is cool that they asked to use the pictures, discovering that they would help in ways I had not originally imagined. Weirdly enough, when I did a google image search of Argas persicus, the number two and number three pics are mine. I'm guessing that is how they discovered them. I also surmise that the guy who took pic number one said no to them.
