Hi everyone,
We have 6 chickens that are a little over a year old and we used to get 4-5 eggs a day. We actually have only 5 chickens now because Buttercup passed, no idea why, but we're extremely sad.
Well now we're getting only 1-2 eggs a day. Today no egg at all. I live in the Phoenix area so I was wondering if the heat was to blame.
Has anyone else noticed low egg production in the summer? The chickens were doing fine in egg laying until recently.
Our chickens get lots of shade and fresh water and a daily block of ice. Which they take turns standing on, it's hilarious
I've also noticed a high frequency of soft-shelled eggs.
Is it a Phoenix-summer thing? I realize it's hard for anything to thrive in this heat
Thoughts anyone?
