Me too!

Well Happy 2015 to everyone!! This MUST be a better year. I am less than a week out of two surgeries again. BUT I believe we are at the end of the tunnel and that's a big ole light there! The last of the cancer is out with renal vein surgery and then there was a problem with the gut. So back in within two days. Not a pretty sight. 10 days in the hospital in Phoenix is never easy on your handicapped hubby plus he was scared to death of the cancer. Its been a long haul from the 19th of October and a kidney stone!! Prognosis is very good as there was no cancer in the lymph nodes removed and the vein had negative margins. Thus a bit of relief there. Now to get me well and I'm telling you it will be a slow, slow process. Thank goodness for good neighbors who will step in to help. The girls have been doing fine. Weather is a bit colder than usual but they are happy and content. Weather is wet but we still have straw to help the wet spots! Hopefully by the end of January I can do something other than put food in feeders!!! Although I can't even do that now - DANG. Mostly I sleep, get up and walk around a bit and then sleep some more. Throw me a positive thought here and there AND on for my DH who's trying to hold things together. May your year be chicken - enjoyable and eggciting beyond words. Just thought about the fact I was able to type a whole email without a break - progress!! WhooHoo!!

well I'm very proud of you, and I'm proud of your husband too keep up the good work and I will keep you both in my prayers!! :hugs

Let me know if you're going up to the hospital in the Phoenix Valley area (PM if you'd like) so if I can drop in an egg or 2 to for you. (I meant a visit! ;) )

Yep, drank some Tadcaster Oatmeal Stout, and some Taddy Porter last night. If you can find either one of these, they are very smooth dark beers. (Hint: try at Sprouts, or sometimes Safeway).

Thanks!

We now have a Sprouts about 45 minutes away, pretty close considering where we live and I want to go check it out! Now I have a really good reason!

Lol

It's 4:30AM and 20 degrees in my backyard at 33rd & Dunlap.

How are you all surviving the cold??
Ug, I for see a lot of burst pipes in the immediate future. My moringa tree isn't looking so good and my tomatoes/ squash are barely hanging on but other than that things are good. Had to finally turn the heater on to bring the temperature in the house back in the 60's, that's rare. Where do we live again?????

Instead of being 25˚ like predicted, it's 40˚ in my backyard right now. Looks like Tucson is clouded over. Weather Channel says it's 32˚. It's definitely warmer than that.

It was supposed to be that cold down here in Green Valley too, but my hubby and I were shocked at how "warm" it actually was this morning, relatively speaking. The water in the chicken run had only the thinnest skim of ice on it, but now we've lost the sun to unexpected clouds so I'm not sure how much warmer it will get. The kale, cabbage, Swiss chard, carrots, lettuce and beets in my garden are laughing at this weather. I've been giving trimmings from my garden to the chickens every day.
