Arizona Chickens

Our girl did take a few extra week's .. It also depends on the amount of day light.. We keep a light on them in the evening for about 2 extra hours
I always give my extra light in the morning......I'm always afraid it will be too dark for them to gather in their coop area when the evening light goes off. I have the light on a timer and don't really worry too much about it in the morning - comes on- goes off. How does the light in the evening work for you?

We are still waiting for these brats to give us egg's..

We have a old roasting pan they would hang in.. Not that I'm hinting or anything..

It looks like 2 images downloaded.. Weird, hope it is a good photo..

I LOVE this photo! Beautiful kitty guarding those ducks.

So far good. I turn it on untill about 9pm. We have one new layer, our SWA.. Plush Wheaton Ameruacana. My auto correct is in charge of these word's.

Does anyone in the valley want to host a BYC seed exchange, or take the seed box? We don't mind hosting another .. We have had it all summer, since it came back from Tucson..

This Egyptian spinach is just starting to seed from the summer.. It is delish.. @Sill grew it from seed and graciously gave us a plant.. We have been eating off of it this summer.. I hope it makes it threw the winter .. I'll go take photo's of the flowers and pods..

What breed ? Plus dig down into their saddle feathers.. Those are the pointy ones at the base of their back, just before the tail.. also you can see the hackle feathers starting..

Blue Isbar.  I'm betting cock?

Huh, his comb is awfully dark, do a side photo.. Acctaully the hens have a very similar shape, meaning they can look like a cockerel .. I would look for those saddle feather..

We just had a microburst come through here and break huge branches out of the trees and blow a small chicken coop off it's foundation and into a fence. Thankfully all the chickens were smart enough to get under the big coop. So they're wet, but not harmed.
