Arizona Chickens

I can't believe how beautiful the sunsets are here in Arizona! I am at the Grand Canyon right now with my family, and I got this picture.

This warm weather so soon after all that rain caused a wood door in the back of my coop to warp just enough that a couple girls were able to squeeze out and into the dangerous zone of my pit bull dog. Alas, one black copper and one easter egger are no longer with us.

The door is all fixed now and I made some upgrades to the electric fence.

If anyone has any chickens that they need to find homes for, I have space. Economics are tight so I am not looking to buy right now, though I do when I can.

where are you at?

Histomoniasis or blackhead is carried by chickens. I avoid by not raising together.

Yes I know but blackhead is not everywhere. Some places have a hard time with it, others don't. I don't keep mine in the same pens. Been raising both chickens and turkeys since 2008, never had it here.

I must add.. We are down to 3 chickens, yep 3.. Clair is 4, still laying.. The mix from you Molly and Cheryl from@redrocketrooster
Really our duck's are so much hardy.. They are not so acceptable to the diseases that chicken's get.. They lay huge egg's and I love the water feature.. We recycle the water in to the garden..

My Aunt lives up near Springerville Arizona, and has a few roosters she needs to give to forever homes, I belueve there are 3, 2 old english bantams and I believe a Standard Silver laced Wyandotte boy, (but I could totally be wrong about that one)

She is wanting to give them to someone who wont eat them, they are not worth cooking in my opinion, too many feathers to meat ratio XD

One of them I am especially fond of, his name is Pee Wee.(Bantam)

the 2 male bantams look alot like this.

as for the questionable silver laced Wyandotte, I will have to ask. If anyone is interested near tucson area, or the Springer ille area, please feel free to message me!
