Arizona Chickens

This is her. Her waddle isn't super noticeable unless you're holding her in person but it's there if you really look at the picture also it doesn't look at red in the pic.

(Btw her name is Rosemary)

This is her sister. She's a lot darker than Rosemary. (Her name is Clara)

Also idk why but the picture is blurry but when I took it it wasn't. BYC does that to all my pics

I have heard they are great, what is the name of the other feed store on the west side? Like off the 101?? I could call a friend if you don't know.. Actually this place is also like a garden center?
Don't know for sure. There are a couple of them around I know of. One is on Scottsdale Rd north of the 101. I've never been in there but I heard they're pretty good. The only one I know of that's like a garden center is CAL Ranch down in South Phoenix. I've bought stuff down there before but not chicks. They're chicks appear to be good quality.

The one on Scottsdale Road north of the 101 is Scottsdale Livestock. They're very nice and friendly. I shop there all the time. As far as a good coop, if you don't want something custom built, but want a kit you can order and put together... the best one I've found is Urban Coop Company. Most of the kits are cheaply made (a lot of time overseas) and they just didn't last for me. Urban Coop is in Texas and stands behind their products.

Sexlinks are called sexlinks because they are hybrid crosses between two breeds with sex-linked color genetics, so the chicks can be sexed by feather color at hatch. The parent crosses vary. The chick color will vary depending on the parental cross used. Presumably your sexlinks are all females, because the males would have a very different feather pattern. I can't give you more information because I have no experience with sexlink chicks.

In my Javas the males usually develop their wattles before the females, but not always. There are slow-developing males and fast-developing females. I have accidentally culled a few excellent females because they were so large and assertive I thought they were cockerels. When I processed them I realized that they had oviduct and no testicles. Oops. At least they were tasty.

Okay. And I know what a Sexlink is I just wasn't sure about the one that's already getting its wattle. Haha

You eat your chickens?... I could never do that

Finally made it up to Skull Valley. Sure it's nice up here. Anyone from the forum in Prescott or maybe even here in Skull Valley?

I'll be working on getting my coop up and going, but wondering where to get the chicks in Prescott? Looking for a breeder if anyone knows one. Prob making a trip to Tucson @desertmarcy how are your chicks coming along? If I'm able to sneak away for a bit will you have some chicks ready for new homes?
