Honestly, I think you can make that hen work, but if you don't want her I can take her. They are both gorgeous birds. I sat down with my lastest hatch today and it turns out I may have one more mottled pullet, but she's fully feathered. It's just starting to show up now. I thought she was just going to be a red columbian. If you don't mind sitting on those two for a little while, I may be able to bring you both. I don't know when I'll have the next chance to go to the valley, so don't know how long it will be.View attachment 1174530

Ok, It's a deal! My 2 for your 2? I told the lady that I would keep her's the way that I get them from her, but I can always have another pen for my play around pen. The hen I have now lays green eggs, and when you look closely you can see a bit of pattering in her feathering.

I actually already have a hen that looks like a very diluted version of yours, and she lays light brown eggs. If you look closely her tail is a light blue/lavender, and you can't tell from the pic, but her base under her back feathers is the same light lavender color. I wonder what I would get if I crossed that rooster with both these hens...

I don't know what you would get by crossing this rooster with that hen. This rooster has yellow legs. Being from a blue gene, I would think that crossed with your light brown eggs layer, the resulting pullets would most likely lay the green eggs. Anyway's, once he belong's to you, you can do whatever you want to do with him, right?

This is my newest breeder, Rocky. I love everything about this boy! He's huge (last weighed in at over 10 lbs), has a wide back, deep chest, meaty thighs and breast, nice comb and legs, and a friendly, alert personality. He's not snuggly like many of my other roosters, but I'm okay with this because as you can see in the first photo, he's very attentive to the girls living next door. I suspect he's going to be a really good, take-charge kinda guy and I can't wait to see what his offspring will look like. AND...as a bonus, he's a strong carrier of the blue egg gene.

And please excuse the dirty pen. I took these just before cleaning it out.

ok, my first time with chickens molting do they get really standoffish and rude all the sudden? lol none of my girls want to cuddle and they act scared of me... crazies!!

chickens are so tempermental, but this has gone on for awhile, but as soon as cheese comes in the picture i get them surrounding me or if they are having a hard time going to bed bc of a bully who do they look to, to help them up on the roost? Mama that's who but noooo no more cuddle babies all rude teenagers with attitude!! lol

Well, if they are molting, then that explains why they don't want to be cuddled. Old feathers dropping out and new one's growing back in hurt's!
