Candle them. Spoiled eggs can explode unexpectantly and cause a smelly mess.

I will do that before I go to bed! Don't want any part of exploding rotten eggs! My husband will never let me have chicks again.

How many days have they been there? If you check the hatch-a-long thread for last month, you will find that some of the eggs weren't hatching until maybe day 23 on chicken eggs.

The two hatched February 3rd.

i agree carefully candle them to see if there is any life.

Will there be any movement if they are alive?

here is the new brooder! they are so happy, lots of room for running and flying for the next several weeks until they go out!

Ok, and was there a chance of anymore eggs that were added later either by you or other hens after those 2 that hatched were put in the nest?

I dont think so. She made the nest outside the fence. Only her sister could squeeze under the gate before it was fixed besides her. I only saw her sister go outside the fence once. So I guess it possible.

Here are the four eggs.

The first two were definitely "fuller". Sorry for the terminology. Not sure the proper wording. The last two had something, but not to the extent of the first two. I didn't see any movement.

If those eggs there are the one's that you thought would hatch with the other 2, I'm not seeing it. They look like dud's to me. Try holding the egg big side up and shine the light in the small end. Hold the egg up where you can still see what's in the bottom.

Nice job. I wish I had room for that!

I used one of those big canvas puppy corrals when mine hit about 2 weeks. I found this to be a great option if you can't build or don't have the room for a brooder like @meetthebubus (by the way, nice work! Looks fabulous ) They are about $20 on Amazon...definitely reusable after a good washing. Only downside is I wouldn't feel safe using a heat lamp with it.

I forgot to mention the size
Its 8 ft long 2 ft wide and 2 ft high. You can put in a false wall in the middle when they are tiny and as they need the running space you can open it up
Also I can clean it with them still in there by having them on one side while I clean the other side. Cost of this brooder is about 20 dollars but this was all new scraps left over from the chicken mansion expansioin
