@SonoranChick We reached 109 today. Supposedly hotter tomorrow - makes me very uncomfortable as we have doc appts tomorrow and will be away most of the day. Gonna have to call on my chicken checker-uppers!
@BlueBaby well I'll keep using the cinnamon but even tho its warmer, when it rains or its wet those red guys can get glomb together and float! Nope don't like them at all.
@igorsMistress none of my girls have liked the baby pools either. They totally disliked them in fact. NOT even to dust bathe in! Silly chickies.
@Michelle Guynn hahahaha - it thought it was some type of spray! The name made me think organic or at least natural!

Chicken's seem to always freak at first to anything new that is added. They have to make sure that it isn't going to try to eat them. :gig

They are all hanging out in the horse shade and the horses are staying in the hot sun to stay away from flies!:rolleyes:

Animals don't always do the thing's that we think make sense.
 
I walked outside in the dogs fenced in section of the yard a bit ago checking for any ant mounds out there. All was clear! We had a stubborn mound of the red ants out there in it a couple of years ago. The stuff I have this year works lots better in getting rid of the ants. I still have more of the yard to check on as I'm on 3 1/2 acres.

Glad to know it's not just my chickens that freak at new things crazy girls! The mud puddles are best for me

I turned on the a.c. today first time, only 2 hours from 2 to 4 pm I think the machine is too small for the room but my goal is just to relieve the heat not make it cold so it did the job for those that stayed there half were outside but all are ok bc of the mud puddles ,shade and misters

I worry about some ...honey and winnie and callie seem hotter than others goldie always seems the least hot

In the mornings it still feels cool at 5 am and that's when they all want to cuddle including Marshmellow the ee roo, people say u can't handle a roo and he'll be nice but it's obviously depending on the rooster

Also funny enough my chickens dont like meat that much they don't attack frogs, lizards or prairie dogs only some bugs
 
Can I just say I love my chickens! Just came in from power hour left them roosting and they are just enjoyable sweet, Rambita didnt like that i was leaving she had been resting her head on my shoulder roosting and as I left she stood up watching me leave ,like dogs do, it was sweet but strange bc usually chickens just go about their business... lol

Oh and I'm getting 2 green eggs a day and there are new layers coming into play bc of the egg size

They are all green so far, do eggers ever lay blue or pink? I mean I know a hens color is the same but hoping some others might be different too!
