@Geranium I don't know if this helps but here is my buff at 5-6 weeks. She had tiny wattle development by that point.

Chicks update!!
Picasso:
Has graduated to being with the Easter eggers 24/7! Tonight she went to roost with them up 4 ft high! I took her down though bc of the rain and put her behind them on the roost but she is so cute how confident she is and apparently one of the gang.

Chulita and mama Rambita:
Have a new "home" temporary in part of the run where they can better see everyone but no touch. Hubby built them a great temp. coop out of cinder blocks and plywood roof.
Poor Rambita didn't know what to do at roost time she wanted to return to the mansion but i stayed firm.
I sat with her until darkness cam she hopped up on my back and chulita followed and nestled under her on my neck lol hubby rescued me and put her on her new roost along with baby. It was dark so she stayed put, chulita chirped and she opened her wing so baby could nestle under her on the 2 by 4.

So happy to say things are looking good I'm just hoping things will settle down with the fights against Rambita so she can integrate soon

Hi everyone :frow

We had steady rain until yesterday afternoon. The chickens were either in the coop or under solid shelter because the bushes weren't cutting it.

The quail were good, I added additional shelter to their garden and put some contractor bags over the top with rocks to hold it down. Worked great and their feed stayed dry.

We had some flooding in the streets here as usual, but we don't even puddles left in the yard this morning.

I'm have to get the kids to school and get some chores done. Have a great day!

The other day I saw a strange wild bird... maybe I just didn't know about this but I still think it strange...
It was a large turtle dove, dark though nearly black, it had a large Crest though, flew ontop of the house, was not afraid of us, and stranger yet it had feathered feet... ever see a dark turtle dove with large black Crest and feathered feet?

The chickies are hanging in their new daytime enclosure! Once the coop is built I'll connect this to the pop door with a wire tunnel so they can play outside until we have the rest of their yard ready. They're dust bathing their little hearts out and living their best chicken life.

@SonoranChick my buffs don't have much in the way of wattles, but my blue orp does. Hopefully I don't have half boys. That would be my luck. At least I can be pretty sure that my runty Amelia the Easter Egger is a pullet. Everyone else, who knows. No pink yet on anyone, though.
