Arizona Chickens

I totally forgot about that museum. I have never been there but I know someone who has and he loved it. We vacationed out here a lot before moving here. We planned our days before we came out. We stayed with friends in Glendale so we just planned from there. It’s an awesome state and weather will be perfect when you are here.

NASCAR may be here also. I can’t remember if it’s march or April.

I forgot where you're from and told you it gets chilly :lau I'm a dork!

The biggest thing you're going to notice is the dry weather and the sun. I suggest sunblock if you burn easy. Shoot, even if you don't it's a good idea. Given your normal location, you won't be cold, trust me. Despite that, some places put the chiller on frigid so it's possible to get chilly inside. I typically have a light sweater, tank under and I wear capri type pants a lot. You may want sandals too. And lotion. It's very dry here compared to what you're used to.
Have lots of water. Let me repeat...have lots of water. You will be dry and thirsty. Did I mention it's dry here? It is  All joking aside though, have it with you always and drink a lot while you're here.

People are allowed to carry guns here without a permit so don't be surprised if you see people with them on their hips right in the open. I only mention it because my employer brings people here for training and some of them have been wide eyed and a little frightened. It's legal and many here do enjoy exercising their rights.

I really hope you enjoy Phoenix when you visit. It's a pretty neat place with tons to do and you'll be visiting at a nice time of year.

LOL it's okay!! Better to be prepared!! Besides, sometimes deserts drop a ton at night, right? So if it goes from like 80 to 60 I might be cold at night aha

Thanks so much for all the weather advice and everything! That is definitely useful as well! I will be sure to bring a lot of water and sunscreen! It is weird to me to have to break out the sunscreen in spring but I will! Lol

And thank you. I'm sure I will. :)

Someone recently said there's nothing to do in AZ unless you like hiking :lau
But I don't think that's true based on what you guys have said aha but they were/are young and live there, probably different than a tourist.

Pretty much. When you come here from other places and see a guy buying smokes at the gas station with a Desert Eagle on his hip it's a bit surprising. These days though with concealed carry and no permit required in most cases, you never know what you'll come across ;)

Sounds exciting. :lau

I worked around the ranch today with a light migraine, usually migraines put me down, but I got a lot done despite it bc I had some catching up to do with chores since I was out of commission for quite awhile but slowly things are getting back

I also started my annual Christmas decor, I don't do a lot, mostly inside bc I don't want anything blowing over to the chicken to eat tinsel or something lol

I love Christmastime, for me it starts the first week of November until new years lol

I was at the Power Boat Races today again, and the boat that I always root for won this year's final; War Party! (That's the name of the boat, and it's owned by a lady named Nancy Davis.)

I haven't bothered to decorate for Christmas for years now. Neither hubby nor I have any family here, so it's not worth the trouble of doing it, and beside's I think that Christmas has become too commercialized. This does not mean that I do not believe in Christmas, it just mean's that I honor it in my own way for the right reason.

Anyone interested in buying a white silkie pullet and cockerel pair? We are located in Mesa, AZ but are willing to meet anywhere in the Phoenix metro area.

We have a male and female white silkie pair that we’re selling for $40. We don’t want to split them up, they are a package deal! They are 19 weeks old and are shy but very sweet, they have been picked up and loved and cuddled their whole lives. So far they have been very quiet, we haven’t heard the cockerel crow yet (one of his brothers has already started in on it :th). They were originally purchased through Cackle Hatchery as day old chicks.
