Hello Arizona

I'm giving the flock some warm oatmeal again for breakfast and I picked up scratch with corn in it yesterday. Might boil a couple eggs for them too.

Fugly is trying his luck with the ladies quite a bit now. He went after The Boss last night and got her and she didn't beat him up so he's making progress His crow is still deeper than I'm used to but it's a nice crow. We've heard it more these last few days, but he's not an early riser so that's good.

I had not intended to turn the chicks loose with the rest of the flock till the weather cleared, but speed racer had other plans, he escaped the pen, I could not catch him, so he's now out in the run with everyone else, I left the cage door open, opened the small door on the little tractor supply coop in the run for safe space

Lost my flock last night :/ coyotes got into the yard it seems. We found a small hole in fence about the size a cat door would be but the prints were too large for a fox. Lost 9 birds 8 laying hens and a roo. 3 hens still here but I cant figure out how they got the birds out of the coup. 1.5x3 in horse fencing and chainlink comprise the defense of the coup and there are no areas open. Seems the birds left the coup for some reason while I was at work.

Short version I need more chickens again, sooo any one in the central area have eggs on a incubator? I lost EEs and RIRs.

Went to check on Speed Racer and the others, Speed was back in the pen, but I decided to say to heck with it and leave the door open.. We'll see how things are going tomorrow.. Nobody is really out roaming today as it's cold, windy and rainy.. tomorrow is suppose to have some sunshine.

@13lue Sorry to hear about the breach. I know you said central AZ but I'm not remembering where. I'm sure someone here is growing babies - they are all such hatchaholics!! Hopefully you can shore everything up to protect the hens you have left. Now to rebuild.
@starri33 wet, wet, wet but not horrid cold - kinda a breeze or two but we have had so much rain we have mud puddles! Chickies are not pleased but they are coping with their other areas. Crazy how our weather has been. Said tomorrow will be kinda wet but drying, and the rest of the week dry and sunny......I'm looking forward to that!! AND my chicken yard is looking forward to that!!
