Arizona Chickens

I've gone ahead and taken him out of the shell, he was wrapped, membrane had pulled away from the shell and was wrapped around him, him and another that was started this AM got dried out, the first hatch is hanging out with the other 9 in the tote, not a whole lot of difference in the sizes. So I've gotten both out of their shells, they are back in the incubator drying out, I'm not sure that I am a fan of this kinda incubator, it's one of those no name chinese things, it might work ok I guess as something to get them to hatch, but I've got to figure out something better for lock down.

If the membranes are drying out like that, then your humidity in there is too low.

That's what I was thinking but I have no way to put another hydrometer in it, due to the way it's built, it has a built in buzzer that goes off at 44%, so I don't know.. if nothing else, I am going to have to tape the thing, keep it taped while incubating, then tape it back up when I put them on lock down. these are the two that I just got out of their shells/membranes. One little one still has some stuck to his butt, it seemed extra stuck so I left it.

I would keep that one with the membrane moistened in that area so that you can carefully work it loose. If it stay's dried on there it is going to pull all of the chick fuzz off the back and possibly some of the skin too.

@starri33 It look's like you still have a few more left to hatch yet in there.
14 more.. 5 silkies and the other 9 are Americana mix and NN's. I've got 6 of the Americana's sold already thinking about giving 4 of the Americana's and NN's to a lady who's trying to rebuild her flock, I know the joy that mine bring me, she's recently lost her 9 y.o son to a ATV accident. I am a admin and moderator on several FB groups, people were being butt's to her, they no longer belong to those groups.
