Arizona Chickens

well you know my original names... April for a pullet and August for a cockerel?
Randy is a good cockerel name, but I did not name him until I decided he was a keeper. Here he is courting one of his new girlfriends.

No he was not. Both of the parent's were NN's. The 2 White Rock pullet's are gone.
It is best to have a flock that gets along! NNs and Dorkings are both very mild mannered easy breeds. Hatchery White Rocks probably have to be tough to survive at Ideal's breeding flock. I am looking forward to trying some Dorkings. They are supposed to be good! :drool

well I had some hatchery NNs and they would not accept the younger birds. at least they didn't pretend to accept them, then attack, like my andalusians did!

Well it's 75 degrees here and I finally had to put out the ice bottles and ice cubes in the water. I had tried to spray the legs of the birds, but only got one. I'll have to block off areas because once again I've managed to "design" a run that makes it easy to get away and impossible to get caught:(. But at least two of the new birds are laying and all of them were singing!
