Arizona Chickens

I'd share if it would come down. Lots of lightning, some thunder, and all we got was enough to dampen the ground.
It rained sometime while I was sleeping.

I checked the egg's as soon as I got up, and there's no shell breaker's in there yet. Today is supposed to be hatch day.

Finally got rain! So many times we got passed over but last night got 2 inches per the local rain stations, and I heard some hail early on in the storm.
And, the strong winds helped rip the cheap crappy tarp over half the run. fortunately I had a spare so I've replaced it. I guess you get what you pay for, this was only months old.

Have the rains controlled the spread of Az fires significantly. ???
I read that the Northwest US is blazing out of control:hit I rally am saddened by the losses to peoples homes, livestock, and everything else associated,,,,, including peoples lives:(:hugs
yes, I believe a lot of fires down here are under control. It was a storm similar to last night, that killed the fire that was about 8 miles from my place. Very sad about the rest of the fires. A few days ago hubby and I were talking with some folks at the diner about defensible space. Something to think about--defensible space vs. shade. Of course, forest management would help. I think the fire near my place also was running up against a 4 yr old fire scar from a really big fire, so one way or another, the forests get cleared...

Any word/peeps, even pips, yet from your baby chicks?
Yes, one little Naked Neck hatched at about 5:25 PM. It's sleeping and drying off. I noticed a little crack in that egg that was almost at the very end of the big end of the egg. I helped it out, as it looked like it had just about outgrown the egg from where it was trying to exit from. :idunno

Hi all!

I’ve been searching for some olive eggers that lay a deep shade of green. The only ones I’ve found are like a mint color..

I was hoping someone here had some they’re willing to part with. Thanks in advance. I’m located in the NW Tucson area but willing to drive a reasonable distance.

Have a great day
