Thank you! I saved it. Teddy is the one with the white on his nose. The other one is Cadence (aka Cady).
Check your messages, because I just sent you one.Ideal has EE chicks on sale this month... oh my... This morning we talked about building a brooder which would later become the hen house inside the coop. That might be one way to spread out the cost of building the coop over several months but I wish we'd just decide something and GO with it. This indecision is driving me crazy. I love my housemate to bits but she is much more a planner than a doer. I just want to get something done.![]()
LOL, it's too far for me, but I plan to go to the Apache County Poultry Show in Saint Johns at the end of October. Not to compete, but to watch and maybe talk to some of the people there. And hello! Is anyone competing in or going to the state fair? Poultry is judged October 13th at 9am. Here is the flyer!
Not me. I do have some big Dorking's for the English class, but they aren't the Silver Grey one's. I do have some red Naked Neck's. I'm planning on getting some Bielefelder's, but again those belong in the German class that they don't have on the flier. My chicken's are used for utility, and most that are bred for show don't reproduce well enough for me because I like those egg's.Is anyone competing in or going to the state fair? I am brand new to chickens and the breed standards (SOP) but I thought it would be fun to go down and see some typey birds. And perhaps talk to the people who own them!If you are going, I do hope that you have fun. Are you going to show any of your's?
Yes, it could be an educational thing. You can also get tip's from other's. Have fun there when you go!I am brand new to chickens and the breed standards (SOP) but I thought it would be fun to go down and see some typey birds. And perhaps talk to the people who own them!
My birds are from a hatchery and for my yard, pet quality is a-okay. But it would be great fun to walk the rows and experience the breeds side by side.
