Looking at YOU, US 60 :)
I work in the design and construction field for the past 20+ years. Phx and metro area water infrastructure is not as solid as you might like to think. In my experience in submitting plans for new or even just tenant improvement projects water system issues is not a new thing, it's been going on behind the scenes for at least 2-3 decades.

Water is life - especially in the desert - whether we want to admit we live in a desert or not.
Look at your or your neighbor's landscaping to see if you realize you live in a desert. The truth will set you free...

Yeah, I have a good friend who's a waterbender for Gilbert. She talks about how brittle the water infra is all over the valley.

Yes, bad infrastructure, and they want to build more businesses and houses so that even more people will move here. Think of all the extra traffic jam's that's going to cause!

There is a huge swath on west side has no proof of water for the next 100 years as required for approval to undergo development. And we as a State have been giving water away by millions of gallons for years so middle eastern companies can grow hay to feed thier horses. Maybe someone will wake up and stop the madness now that we are in middle of drought triggering negotiations on Colorado River water rights at a State to State to Tribe level.
