I was told after I posted here that if I posted about it then I would be banned from the forum for the day. I didn't want to spoil the fun so I removed it ;P

update on the turkeys...they are looking so much better than when I got them.

DH was acting like he had no idea that they were here...I told him about 5 days after I got them and he said "OH ok" that was all...I heard him telling his brother how he knew the whole time that I got turkeys, he saw them the day I brought them home. What a great man.....he also told his brother that he was proud of me that I just went out and got what I wanted to add to what I am selling

Here are some pictures for you all...they are the birds that I hatched from Mahonri and Larees eggs...sorry it took so long and I need to take more new ones...they are also bad pictures....they are all mixed together

Every now and then I hear "Peep pe-BBEEAAWWWWWKKK!!!". Keeping a close watch for any blood but so far none.

Lunches left overs are tons are straw berry heads with a little fruit left on them, would it be ok for the chickens?

See, shoulda come to that class with me!

We actually just popped the lungs out with our fingers. Worked pretty well. You could probably just use a spoon if you need a tool. She had some great techniques. I learned a lot.

There is a great pictorial on the meat bird section. It's a sticky. One of the things Vanessa did was leave enough of the neck to be a handle while cleaning out the cavity. I thought that was genius. Just loosen the crop and it came out with everything else, smooth as butter.

Sorry if that was too graphic for some.

I am just taking a short break before mopping my floors and starting to decorate for our gathering on Saturday... Excited, but nervous, too.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, I saved them in the fridge so Im going to go throw them in.

Just curious. How do the broody hens know when "lockdown" is? I just gave my broody hen 15 eggs and they had 2 weeks to go, so I was just wondering if I need to let her know or if she has some way of knowing when not to get up?
