Are you sure you can't sell them for them?

I would love a couple of those spitzhaubens. Straight run, though, right. Oh please, oh please!

I can't sell them and no they are not straight run anymore. I have all females or at least we think so. The owner knows I can't have roos so the owner sorted them and I re-sorted when I got there. So here's hoping.

When will they be for sale? We just want to help find them homes, right Laree?!

I am sure you came online tonight just to get harrassed by me!

So, come on, now. When can I get a spitzhauben!?? Hmm??

I will make a deal with ya. I will take some pics tomorrow and post so you guys can at least see them. I should have them for the next 2 or 3 months for sure before "the owner" wants them back.

I think you guys are just trying to get me to slip up and tell where and who.

Let us know which ones are in your "thinning" pile. I would love to have a few polish and they are the same age as my chicks, so they would be able to integrate. Will buy them from you.

I will be doing some coop rearrainging tomorrow and if I can identify my roosters (I want to keep atleast 1 roo of each breed) then I can start thinning out. About 10 Silver laced (two sexed as roos but not certain which two) and about 15 black and whites (About 50/50 in gender some pullets are starting to get the rounded crest) are ready to go now. My son wanted to show the silver laced at the Sept 4H show but decided he is more of a buff laced instead. Since he doesnt have a desire to show the SLP, I wont be keeping any of them. I also have a mostly black polish. I am unsure of the gender on it. I also have a hand full of White crested Blue Polish roosters. Some are not as blue as others (some took on a light, almost white color and have very little blueing). They are all quite friendly, the younger ones more so because I have lived in the coop since I ordered the big order of chicks back in March.

With the experience I have had (no pro here) polish seem to be pretty good at accepting newbies. Maybe because they cant see the newcomer. lol

Shaun - What color of silkies do you have? Im really interested in Blues, black, cuckoo, chocolate/brown, and buff.
Also, you said you have scaly leg mites right now? I bought a cheap can of generic crisco and grease chicken legs monthly as a preventative. I use rubber gloves when I grease em down. My husband thinks I am a nut case for greasing them when there isnt an issue but I havent had scaly mites yet.

Wow, you aren't kidding. I just looked up a pic of a show quality BWA rooster and he really is a dead ringer! I doubt he would breed true, but he sure is pretty. Do you remember if he likely came from an EE egg or a W/BWA egg. Do you think he is really an EE? Maybe he is one of your purebreds? Now I feel even worse about not keeping him.
I woudn't be surprised if those hackle feathers are still baby feathers and end up being replaced. Do you want me to hang on to him a while and post pics in a few weeks?

He really does look better than the best Blue Wheaten that I saved out of that hatch... and bigger!

But, because of the black hackles, I'm thinking his mamma was a regular Blue Ameraucana

I don't think I would be interested in them once they are full grown. If the owner would let you sell them now, I would take them and would pay well for them, but not later. Wonder why they don't want to sell them now. Will they get more for them as adult birds? Oh well, I still would love to see them. Bummer, cause I believe they are of similar age as my chicks and they would integrate well. I should have bought them when I saw them. Darn

Wow! My almost two year old ripped half the keys off my laptop so I've been away for a couple days. Congrats to on the new birds and broody fun and jobs and every thing else. The wife and I have decided that we want to find a new home in a better neighbor hood with better schools and want to get into a house around 2250 sq ft on an acre preferably irrigated. Just putting that out there if you see any thing.
