Sorry about all the trouble Mahroni, hope things get better.

I'm glad that Gimp is okay! I was wondering what happened to the little lame duck!

My broody hens are up running around with the babies! The Americuana egg didn't even start to hatch, but I'm too scared to break it open to see how it was progressing. When I give it a little shake you can feel something thumping around inside so I know it started to develop.

The other chicks are all doing great! The "Mystery Aloha" is the runtiest and most fragile of the bunch, but she is adorable. I have more pictures I'll post when I get a chance. Then no more pictures for over a week! My husband is taking the camera to Telluride with him

I am not against shipped eggs...up north I even get them in the summer time

I think shipped eggs are kind of a gamble you have to be willing to take the chance on them. We do have very hot summers compared to other parts of the US you have to concider but they might make it they might not.

I'm hoping to order so shipped eggs later in the year. I decided against it when reading info on hatching eggs and knowing how hot it can be in one off those truck. Heck even if its an air cooled truck, they could sit in 110° to 300° temps for an hour or more during unloading. I wish it would cool off because I am impatient.

I also have a suspicion that the post office x rays some packages. That cannot be good for eggs. But like I say, you pay your money and take your chances. It is like a lot of life, a gamble. Don't complain if it doesn't work out. But your odds are better in the cooler months.

I've completely confused myself and I don't know which chick is what, but here are the latest pictures!

Chicks A (speckled sussex?) and B (mystery aloha?)

Chick C (easter egger?)

D (Exchequer Leghorn) and E (easter egger?)

Choices are: easter egger (x2), speckled sussex, mystery aloha, and exchequer leghorn (all are aloha project chickens, the daddy being Laree's Aloha Project Rooster!).

Very cute pics Tucson Tofu.

My buckeye chicks are getting sooo big, they are just over 4 weeks old.
And my broody banty RIR has been faithfully sitting on my DS's 9 showbird eggs. So, hopefully, next Saturday
we will have some new little chicks.

I hope everyone's weekend is better than this week has been.
