I was going to ask upstairs but thought maybe it might be a heat issue and I might get better info from others who are crazy enough to live in Arizona.

I got a silkie roo in Feb. He is about 20-23 weeks old. I traded him for a silkie hen who is about a year old. I still have him in my possession for the purposes of trying to get a nice looking chick out of him. I've tried to hatch every egg in his pen but all have been clear. My other roo's were fertilizing eggs at this age. So I'm wondering if he isn't quite mature enough yet, or if maybe he isn't trying to jump the hens. I've tried watching to see if he is even attempting but I haven't seen anything in a while. When I first put this hen in the pen he jumped her constantly. Could this be heat related or is he just immature ?

Today was supposed to be lockdown day but nothing developed in the silkie eggs. I have 2 more that are 'supposed' to hatch Aug 3rd and two waiting to go in...so hopefully something would hatch or even give me a sign that he's either fertilizing or not.

You can clean the eye with saline solution or contact lens wetting solution or any eyedrops made for cleaning or wetting human eyes. You could also use any leftover eyedrop or ointment antibiotics.

Thank you, I will try that. Do you think it would be okay to use veterinary Eyewash that you would usually use on dogs or cats? It has purified water in it and boric acid, edatate disodium, sodium borate, sodium chloride, and sorbic acid.

Why is it, that no matter where I live it never rains there? (Except the time I took my new car boating down the 60). We got thunder and lightening last night and a few drops of rain early this morning but not nearly enough.

A hint. If you have to go somewhere in the middle of the day, freeze plastic jugs of water and leave them in the car while you are shopping or in the doctor's office or what ever. They will sweat as the ice melts, so put them in a plastic tote. The car will still be hot when you come out, but not as hot as it would have been.

When you get home, be sure to put them back in the freezer for the next time.

I have a good friend in his 30s who was in Flag with family and he had a brain aneurysm and it doesn't look good. His wife is just getting ready to deliver #4. He is a well known and loved lobbyist down at the capitol and works with Matt Salmon. Pray for Mitch please.
