I've got a few that crow all night. In one coop, its understandable shy they would crow, but in the back where its dark...I haven't the foggiest idea why.

Yesterday, Christmas my husbands friend was attacked at his business tied up and badly beaten, his pool supply store robbed and his car stolen. He was air lifted to Phoenix. If you pray, please keep this man and his family in your prayers.

HI all,
It has been awhile since I posted, in fact the last time was when I put a picture of my 20 Delaware chicks at 3 days old. Well here they are at almost 3 month. I wanted to show you the apparatus my son in law put together to keep the water clean and the feed in the feeder. It is a 5 gal bucket and and a planter, anyway he will put a flap over the feeder that allows them in and keeps the rain out. This is his second one . they work great...he might build and sell them if anyone is interested (though I do not know when he will have time)

NoSkiveez--I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I will be praying for the family. Please keep us updated on his situation.

My silkie roo crows all night. He is in a coop way in the corner of the yard. We are the only house on the street, so it is completely dark.

DM, that contraption looks neat, but I can't figure out how it works from the pictures. It sounds like a great invention. I hate raking up all of that food off the round and it would be great to be able to keep it up and off the ground.

Oh, and our polish roo started crowing on Christmas day! The sound of a little rooster's goofy crow is so darn cute. Today he was even doing the man dance for his ladies. They are all much bigger than him and didn't respect him at all, but it was still cute.

I have a light in our coop. Its not directly in there but he crows non stop. I have 3 roosters within 20 feet of my bedroom. There is only one I want to strangle. We occasionally get a crowed put back. Not often. I think its a full moon that starts them crowing. I guess I'm glad I don't have any long crowers. As it is, new crowers always wake me up and I say to my husand. Did you hear that?

A few days ago there was a chicken accident here. My daughter dropped a metal pail full of feed on a young chicken. We tried to save her but she had to be put down today. My daughter is heart broken. She cried "I killed her". I get so upset when my kids are hurt.

NoSkiveez, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter and the chick. I know you went to extraordinary measures to save it. Hope she gets over it.
Your friend's story was on the news tonight, will keep him in our prayers.

p.s. posting this at 3:30 since that is when Pati's Sultan starts crowing and wakes me up.

It's my own fault for leaving a light on in the AZ room though. I like to make sure everyone gets in ok and gets situated, then forget to turn it off till I get awakened. I definitely need to add on to the coop soon, it's getting crowded in there. Anyone want to loan me some energy and/or enthusiasm?
