Is #30 the magic number to get a URL? Cuz that was me, if it is

Ummm, we are going to build a serama coop too ... chicken math is killing me!!! At this rate we will be fencing off 1/4 of the yard soon. We're going to go meet the seramas on Thursday, can't wait

I may be posting in the wrong place...lol
I am getting my first chicks this summer and am in Tucson. Am planning to use a wooden shed as the hen house, with shade covered area around it so they can roam when it's safe...
Just stopping in to say hi and collect any advice I can

I'm also wondering about the feed stores in town, I want to go organic and am not sure what to buy? or where from? Would rather not pay shipping costs.
Annnnd, as I am getting day olds, is there somewhere to perhaps get an adult (young, but closer to laying)? I'd keep them apart until babies are big enough, but it'd be nice to have an egg layer to get started with!!

thank you

Me too! Fun I mean. I have to put a lid on the chicken math for a bit, but wow would I love an incubator!

You could borrow mine ... just if we got tortoise eggs we might be in a bind (we are hoping for some this year). Mine also needs a turner at some point if we are going to do eggs - LOL!

Hi chickabees
welcome-byc.gif
!!

This is a great place to post. Nice people all over AZ. I'm in Tucson, and I get organic feed at OK Feeds. 5pinkarrows mentioned that Arizona Feeds also has some organic feeds and that the 6th Ave. location has good customer service. For me, OK is convenient, and for the most part they have been great. They helped me with my many questions when we got the chicks 3 years ago, and have been happy to discuss feeds, amendments, problems, etc. any time I ask. I did get one bag of "bottom of the pallet" pellets that had a LOT of powder, which was irritating, but I could have taken it back with no problem. I just turned the powdered stuff into mash for a change for the ladies.

Welcome to the chicken addiction!
