Nothing like the excitement of fuzzy buns being born. The kids will be excited they are still hurting from the other fiasco with the cat.. Mine are looking good. I did some testing to see how much stress the eggs can handle. (mild stress that is). The eggs you have were washed and refrigerated. Out of the 14 I have going here one died before day 10, they were up to 10 days old and left with dirt intact and sitting out on the counter. (Gezz hope none explode).
The Delaware's I got through the mail on the other hand are not doing so well out of 16 I can only see two of them alive through the thick dark shell. I can identify big air spaces on some of them. One is completely black but yet it's only day 11 and I'm trying to look at them in the dark while in the tray. I don't really want to disturb them until day 18. I have another set of Delawares' being shipped to me on April 10th, and I am hoping to have better luck with the second set.
