Arizona Chickens

Nothing like the excitement of fuzzy buns being born. The kids will be excited they are still hurting from the other fiasco with the cat.. Mine are looking good. I did some testing to see how much stress the eggs can handle. (mild stress that is). The eggs you have were washed and refrigerated. Out of the 14 I have going here one died before day 10, they were up to 10 days old and left with dirt intact and sitting out on the counter. (Gezz hope none explode).

The Delaware's I got through the mail on the other hand are not doing so well out of 16 I can only see two of them alive through the thick dark shell. I can identify big air spaces on some of them. One is completely black but yet it's only day 11 and I'm trying to look at them in the dark while in the tray. I don't really want to disturb them until day 18. I have another set of Delawares' being shipped to me on April 10th, and I am hoping to have better luck with the second set.

By fencing do you mean stems from the plants or the whole plants?

Like this (from http://www.studiogblog.com/plants-natives/plants/living-ocotillo-fences-fouquieria-splendens/):

Thought that is what you where talking about, seen that down in Sells. We just finished planting 80 ocotillos at the new baseball stadium here in Scotts..You need just the stems that are still alive for those types of fencing, just plant 6"in the ground and they will grow.(we threw all the broken off stems away last wk:(
I don't know where you could find enough without buying the whole plant and then taking it apart.

My husband likes it, too! I just thought he was alone in that weirdness.

Gallo was going to call you weird...but if there are two then it isn't weird ...just unique;)
The smell is a chemical smell to me and doesn't bother me as does hot hydraulic oil does.

Hello all,

I have been wanting to get some chickens for a while now and am finally tanking the plunge.....with that being said I would like to know if you have any recommendations for places to get some chicks, I see alot of people on craigslist but with there being sooo many choices I dont want to make an uneducated one....any recommendations for breed? I live in a house with no HOA but still want to keep them low key so I would prefer a quieter breed if there is such a thing...

thanks for any help.
Derrick.

My fellow worm keepers: How is it going? After 4 days I opened the container to find they had eaten two carrots and they had tripled in size.
