Arizona Chickens

Pet Club in west Mesa at Country Club and 1st Street (just south of Main) has large bags of DE and also sells about a gallon container of it too. Don't remember how much since I got my small container a couple of months ago. It is the right kind (food grade).

Broadway Feeds in Mesa has 50 lb bags of food grade DE also.

Our feed store (Idaho & Superstition) has pre-bagged (food grade) DE for over $1 /lb

(I think 10 lbs was $12 & 50 lbs was a little less per pound - but don't quote me on those figures).

But if you buy it in bulk it is only $.50 a pound - & they'll even trow in a bag!

Wow....I have been looking up Seramas quite a bit over the past month or two...I think I am losing the battle. They are taking away my will to not have more chickens....It's not my fault....really. It's the Serama's fault....I mean....why should anything have that cute size and posture?? How could a reasonable person resist such a cuteness onslaught?!?!

Ahhh....but with the way our yard is, we really couldn't keep them separate (or safe) from the 'big girls.' So.....they'd have to be in the house.

What can I do in the face of such odds???

Doh! I didn't pay attention to Megs post ... I thought you would be shopping for chickens. Much more fun and then you can combine shopping with chickens ... maybe DW won't even notice.

I'll trade you one of my beautiful Wheaton Americauna 9 or 10 week pullet for a FBCM pullet. Interested? Oh and what age are they?

It looks pretty effective - 15" deep but I'm not sure I could pound it into the ground with the consistency of the dirt in my yard. Using a fence post driver over a 4' section - I'm thinking a pile driver more likely

Good find though.

Thanks RN! I have to finish off the honey dew's before the chicken adventure - & here I am again on BYC, on our anniversary night. Boy do I love my wife!
