from a trained taxidermist, that chop marks are really hard to hide on a snake, and that he hopes he really is an Aspiring Taxidermist.

It would be a good project!

He really is an Aspiring Taxidermist! He tried getting a job with a guy local in AJ but missed out by a week. He'd love instruction!

Hi Mikey!
That's great! It seems to be a fading art!
Hubby (Mike) hasn't worked on anything for awhile, but I will see if he has any pointers for your son.
Were in the process of putting together a craft/family room. And now I'm trying to decide where I can sneak in some brooders!

Any idea why your hens don't like it?? I was thinking of doing something similar if/when this last coop ever gets finished.

Hey meg

Froggie loved his wormy dinner. Thanks again for those and the company. See you next week?

The chicks arrived safe, sound and peeping on Wednesday. I picked out five that looked the most alike and snuck them under Betsey, who has accepted them and is being a very good mama. The ones I picked out are either Rhode Island Reds or Red Stars. So I still have 22 (MPC sent me some extras) left. I'm not sure what all I got, my best guess is that I got:

6 White Leghorns
3 Barred Rocks
5 Rhode Island Reds/Red Stars

The remaining chicks are all various shades of brown and chipmunky. None of them appear to be EE's, a couple look like they are going to be Partridge something, but what I dunno. Right now, I'll I'm sure is that they are cute, and need new homes. I'll be putting an ad up on Craigslist, if no one here is interested, but if you are, let me know, and I'll let them go for $2, which is what I paid for them.

I think it has a lot to do with the heat in the coop although it's the same as it is outside, just no puddles for them to stand in. The dog has a bowl of water just outside the coop and they all just drink out of that. I also think if one could start them out as chicks drinking from the nipples then it would be smooth sailing as adults; kinda an old dog new tricks thing. I just need to spend some time out there and almost force them to use it. I know it's cooler water.

That was fun, maybe it will start cooling off soon too. Silly me I had just enough time to get to the music store for DDs school book and since they said it was by Chick fe whatever I went to the wrong one.
