Not a ton of shade but grows 15 - 20 feet per year!

Fighting them on their level is only going to make them fight more, though.
If you are within the rules, just prove it and you'll win your case. If you aren't within their rules there is nothing you can do about it once someone complains.

Sadly this is the exact way it is...

I do property management for a living and though I do not agree with all the rules sometimes I am paid to enforce them and do just that. No I do not like it sometimes, but the folks signed a contract to abide by the owners rules and if they break them they are written up, still refuse and we seek eviction....

I have been in this business for 20 years and never lost a case in court...

No I do not work for an HOA, but work for mobile home and RV park owners and some of the rules are the most invasive and stupidly restrictive things I have ever seen, but folks still sign the dotted line....

Now an HOA is far worse than anything I have seen from mobile home park owners and they also abuse their power to no end, I wish you luck with this but be careful you don't get on their "list" cause the jerks will ride you until you leave or give in sadly.

Geeeeze hope I did not make myself the enemy now that you know what I do for a living....

I am NOT doing a "turn the other cheek". I am going to the board meeting and protesting and arguing and researching my rights. I can find NOTHING in the CC&R's nor the published by-laws which prohibits chickens, nor the number of chickens one may keep. PMG overstepped their bounds and unless someone on the board reins them in I will take further action. Now I have to go see about planting that dead spot in my front yard where grass refuses to grow, as I have received another letter saying that I must both mow and grow better grass. Or be fined on the 15th. They are definitely poking the dragon.

Hmmm, are there published rules or acceptible plants lists? Do the bylaws add in anything about lawn care? If not, they are WAY overstepping their boundaries. Now there are indeed some associations that have all of that (YEEECH!), but STATE LAW REQUIRES THAT ALL OF IT BE PROVIDED AT CLOSING.

When was the last time the play structures were inspected for safety? If the BENCH is rusting, goodness knows how well the structure is holding up. And for what it is worth, commercial-quality play structures are H-U-G-E-L-Y expensive. And for a semi-public park, a commercial quality set is necessary. I know from experience that the manufacturers will provide absolutely no warranty for a non-commercial quality set installed in a semi-public park. Also, is the play surface is sand, how recently was it "stirred" to keep it soft, and is there sufficient sand to provide a safe fall zone?

Their first problem is they gave her notice for violating a specific CC&R provision--but not from the CC&Rs that govern HER neighborhood. These other citations are not lsited in the documents she was given at closing AS REQUIRED BY ARIZONA STATUTES. And given the initial citation on a bogus provision, I have to doubt whether these are provisions to which she is bound.

I have a pear tree...and partridge silkies. I don't recall all the details, but supposedly the 12 days a Christmas is a help to remember catechm details. Unfortunately, I don't think it will help in Meg's case.
