Chickens aren't so bad. Now little parakeets and all sorts of birds have a naked crop for awhile. That looks bad!

Basically, all the food goes to the crop and is slowly digested to the stomach. That's part of why it gets so huge, the message takes awhile to get to the brain. Kinda of like people on Thanksgiving.

so sorry to hear of your losses. my dh has a friend right by you that had about 17ish hens and 2 dogs broke into the coop and killed all but one

wish i had some pullets for you but all i have are 2 pullets that turned into roos! they are sweet roos though.....but much older for your gal

i am in your neck of the woods.
