I don't have one...and I love ideas!!!

I made an attempt at one, but it very quickly failed. Right now I have them in a plastic refrigerator egg cover that has a handle on the bottom (or top depending on how you look at it). I prop one side on a piece of wood so that they're tilted, then 3 times a day I switch it to the other side so they tilt the other way. It's my modified, make-do, turner

I don't know how many times a day they need to be turned/tilted. I've read two to four or more...

What I was thinking was an ice maker has a really low speed, high torque motor with a built in timing circuit. As long as it doesn't do it too many times a day, it would be simplicity in itself to rig it to tip a tray back and forth...

I thought I had one for you but it got tossed in the last cleaning frenzy: ie. What am I ever going to use this for?

I am very sure they could be found in old fridges, off of CL etc...

Info I found online indicates they cycle between 8 & 12 times a day. Would that be too many tips/turns?

My white silky Cotton has become broody. Right after I pulled all her eggs to put in incubater for she wasn't broody then! I have no idea how long to wait untill a hen decides to start sitting? How long is it safe to wait and let the hen lay all she wants to before the eggs die in this up and down weather?
So there Cotton sits on nothing. I put two eggs back with her. I wonder if she will start to lay more while she is broody? Now I most make you guys understand that the last 4 eggs she layed was her second clutch. She layed 4 and I waited untill the first egg was 7 days old before I gave up and took them. I am trying an experiment to see if they could hatch in an aquarium set up. Now please don't laugh at me. I didn't want those eggs to die and my little mini brooder has her first 5 eggs and they look so far like they are growing.
Anyway I put some pine bedding down and put eggs in under a light that is keeping the temp from 91-99 degrees. I put a water bowl in also. I wrapped the aquarium with towels only leaving the opening for the heat lamp to shine down. YEA, I know chances are slim for this to work. I took two of the eggs and put them back under Cotten. I feel I am doomed!

I need a bigger incubater but don't have money to get one right now.
If Cotton does manage to hatch eggs will she take care of the chicks and keep them warm enough with the noghts getting so cool or should I take then from her?

If she hatches them, she'll be able to keep them warm, provided you don't give her too many chicks. 6 bantams is a good number.
