Arizona Chickens

Novaleigh, We just got back from Mesa feed barn in mesa, (Broadway and Mesa Dr) and they just got in a whole shipment of chicks. Barred rocks, Reds, white Leghorns and Auracana which of coarse are not because it's hatchery so EE it is. They were so cute we picked up three even though we have chicks hatching as we speak. Suckers we are!

Anybody know of a local source for chicken nipples?

... stop snickering. Chicken WATERING nipples?

I know I can buy them online, but hate to spend $7 on shipping for a $2 thing. Shoppers and Higley didn't have them.

I don't know of a local source, but I always recommend QC Supply for both screw-in and push-in types. The shipping really wasn't all that expensive and I think that for 10 they end up being about $1.90 per nipple with shipping. Their quality is good, customer service is great and shipping is amazingly fast.

WOOT!

What was the breed that you picked up at the show. I had never heard of them before and now I can't remember.

Looking great!!
We started our chicken coop yesterday. We only had a small list of items to build it. A saw, an electric drill, lumber, a measuring tape, a marker pen, concrete 4x4 footers, and screws. Thankfully I married a math man who figured all measurements and design! I sure as hell couldn't do it. I would've ended up redneckin' it.

This is what it looked like at the beginning of the day (all lumber from Home Depot scrap box, totaling around 75.00, though we have WAY more then enough lumber!)

My handsome husband and youngest child, my son, building the floor! This was a perfect family project!

This is what it looked like at days end (my poor hunny had to leave for work right after I took this pic, night shifter at Intel). We still have the walls, windows, roof, fill in the flooring, list goes on... but we are getting there! My husband is 6'2 tall, so this is one tall coop! This is our very first building project, and we had no idea what we were doing. We just winged it (that is why I give all credit to my very smart husband! LOL). This coop is made with lots of love

Thought some of you would like a good laugh. Want to see my husbands building plans for the chicken coop? He drew it in purple pen ink on my daughters 4th grade math paper from school. I admit, I laughed so hard when he showed it to me

The seller was Richard7148 They are the ND-R1 screw in 2 piece nipples. They work great and don't leak. I finally saw all my chicks use them so just pulled my other water sources away this morning. No more poopy smelly water for me :D
