Arizona Chickens

If you had drivin about 2 more hours Mikey you would have been to my house. You just keep coming east on I-10. I was suppose to be in New Orleans this weekend for the biggest Serama show and my husband forgot he had scheduled himself to drive for the school. Long story short I didnt have a baby sitter and I am so depressed I didnt get to go. I told him he would be working in my coop all weekend to make it up to me or else......I am letting him fill in the or else.

from the Arizona Republic:

"Mesa school teacher arrested for kidnapping after taking four high school students illegally across the stare line. When asked why he did it he replied, "I just wanted to see her chickens." A plea of insanity is expected."

Took some picts of a couple of spitz. Born on date around Jan 24th - roughly 10 weeks?

I spent some time with this one. She is very skittish.

Very cute though.

This is the friendliest one. She'll jump on your leg/arm/head - personally I think she is seeking the high ground.

Technically her crest is too poofy and should be slanted forward, oh and she had weird toenails. Still love her anyway!

How do you delete a post in this forum? I replied to the wrong thread.

I think moderators are the only ones who can delete posts.

But don't worry - we're pretty friendly around here!

A solution found!

I've been using a small rabbit feeder for the adolescent peepers and losing a bunch of feed as they "beak it out" looking for the best piece, which is naturally at the bottom of the tray.

I went to Shoppers to find a feeder like Sonoran Silkies has (Medium size plastic) in which I could put a baffle, to limit the amount of feed in the tray.

And I found this!

I didn't have a lid so I folded one up quick-like out of some .030" aluminum.

It has a movable baffle so you can set the level at any height you desire.

I desired to set it at 1/4" - it even has the front edge rolled inward so nothing can fly out and the peepers don't have a sharp edge.

And it works perfectly! No more wasted food!

The peepers didn't even mind that it said "Baby pig feeder" on it.

Even the Golden Sex Links cannot beak out a morsel!

Now all I have to do is hang the silly thing up & they're set!

(It has 2 keyhole slots in the upper back (1st picture))

I'm figuring on getting another one for when the brooder/tractor thing goes into service.
