Hey master of metals Mikey, know of any good places nearby (east valley) to get a piece of aluminum? I'm looking for 3/16 thickness and about a 2' by 2' square. The places I've checked around here want to charge for every cut they make to get it that size. Congrats on the video too!

Would like to be able to take a vacation & not worry about watering our three girls 1-2 times a day. We have a gallon standard waterer. I'm wondering if anyone has tried to install the irrigation/drip system to a watering device. We don't have a lot of $$ & although I've managed to install additional dripper units for my new raised urban garden bed, I'm not all that handy. (Although, I did build their playhouse. But I digress.)

So, I'm thinking if I attached a 1/4 inch hose from the drip system to some kind of resevior with a float...oh, man, already that seems tricky to me... but if I do that then I want to attach a hose from the resevior to their waterer. Can I just drill a hole in the top of the waterer & attach fittings or will that overflow the basic waterer? (I'm no scientist here obviously; although I did go thru two years of biochem before changing my major to accounting.)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My honeyman did build the treadle feeder design on here and it is AWESOME!!!

East-est valley is American Metals further west is Industrial Metal Supply - then Davis salvage (Make sure you bring someone with XX chromosomes there, you'll get a better price) then Freeway Metals.

Any Specific flavor of aluminum? & do you really need it that thick?

You are looking at a fair piece of change for something like that.

This is the bestest, simplest, cheapest in my opinion:



Homer bucket with 4 watering nipples and a swamp cooler float plumbed to a copper line. - all for under $25

Get the better quality float (brass body - $8 instead of the cheap plastic one)

Put the float so that you only fill the bucket up a couple of inches.

Clean once every couple of months.

Works great!

I should give them oyster shell more often than I do. Ditto for grit. ACV helps them use the calcium they ingest better.

What is ACV?

The very pretty and adorable Standard Poodle Puppy is still with us. Anybody know somebody that may be interested. Price is down quite a bit for a breed like her. Just want a good home. She is so smart!

The cork reads: "Housework won't kill you, but why take a chance?" That lady kinda looks like me, too...except the hair, and eyes, and nose, and clear skin...*sigh*

that bottle is awesome. something i do to save cool bottles - once they're empty get a pour spout with cork, like the kind for olive oil, and fill the wine bottle with dish soap, add the cork and sit next to the sink. makes a great decoration and conversation piece
