Hi! I am not in Arkansas, but real close to the line in SE Oklahoma, would I be able to join in?
Are y'all still swapping on this thread or just conversing at this point?

sure, i don't mind if you join in. oh they all do lots of interesting deals, stories and helpful hints for things about arkansas. i don't partake in a lot of it because i'm just starting out. but i do have hatching eggs going like hot cakes! i got red productions and green layers. i will by summer time have silkies and polish (pure). what are you looking for? i am looking for a used (still working) bator. i just would like to find one that i can practice with and get the hang of things, so it can be one that no one wants anymore because of upgrade or homemade one. i would like to start hatching so i can also offer babies!

You may join.
There are several swap threads on the forum.
If you have anything for sale or want to trade anything from people in Arkansas this is the place.
Usually people use this thread to let others know if they have chicks, grown chicken (Fowl), hatching eggs and such for sale or trade for something that they want.

How close to the line are you?

Draye, to guess I am about 60 miles from fort smith. I am just trying to find people kinda close to me that may have what I am looking for and interested in swapping.

I am on the lookout for wheaten marans and lavander ameraucanas, hatching eggs (preferably) or chicks, right now....that changes daily it seems. I always see another breed that I say "ooo I want them" but the marans and lav amers are on my must have list....

I saw at atwoods yesterday a FI (i think) basic still air incubator for 45 bucks...not a bad price IMO. you could start there.

I have black sexlink hatching eggs and will hatch chicks, if someone has no means to....

I also have a royal palm tom over a royal hen, and a mix hen, I think she may be considered a golden narragansett, she looks like the hens in the pic on this thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/737806/this-is-frustrating-need-some-help
and they are laying daily. will be putting eggs in hopefully sunday, to insure fertility. my new incy is supposed to be here tomorrow

In another pen, I have a blue slate tom over a blue slate hen and a royal hen,(want to see what kind of color they would throw) but they have yet to start laying.

Thanks y'all for lettin me join in....I am an incubating addict.

I'm not sure what a royal turkey is? I have seen a calico before, just beautiful!! I wouldn't mind having some of those - what do u do with them, except the obvious ;) those chickies sound beautiful...I'm the same way, I want some of almost anything! I know I'm dying to start hatching :jumpy That does sound like a good price, hope you have happy swapping!!

pic of a royal palm tom.... the hen in my avatar is one of my RP hens...she thinks she is human. It kills me (and her) to have to pen her up so I can keep track of her eggs. :(
She gives me the stink eye on a regular basis these days.......

Not mine, but mine does look like this

The picture kinda says it all , why we love what we do, these are the best surprises congrats.
That picture is precious. I get asked a lot why I bother with homesteading because I'm young/in college/I could 'just get it at the store' etc...but I can say with 100% confidence...the sense of joy we get from self sufficiency and the opportunity to witness the miracle of new life isn't diminished by one's age or occupation, and it most certainly doesn't come from the store. Congrats on your new addition Rocky Hill!
