Arkansas folks speak up.........

For me Intellicast shows a low Saturday morning of 49, a high Saturday afternoon of 48, a low Sunday morning of 9, high Sunday 24, and low Monday morning of 10. What’s say we don’t talk about that -5 wind chill. Oh and a 60% change of rain/wintry mix Saturday.

Watching the weather forecast last night, this sounds about right. Ain’t it a great time to be alive!!!

The girls better start fluffing up now for the weekend

I am in the River Valley and we are not quite as cold but I am supposed to be spending Friday and Saturday with a friend in Fayetteville so I will be layering!

BTW: just came in for doing some chicken chores, collected eggs and today I have 5! I know now who 4 are, 2 are new pullets, 2 are young hens who have re-started. Not sure who #5 is but I will be looking.

I have 5 pullets that I am waiting on but this is a rather largish egg so not sure it is one of them.

Is it a double yolker?
I haven't cracked it but after visiting the coop this morning, I had another young hen in the nest box so I believe this one is hers. She lays a largish egg so I think I know which 3 hens are laying and I definitely know which 2 pullets are laying. I just find it very curious that these 3 hens took a break, and then started up again, now. None of the 3 had a noticeable hard molt, they looked a bit less fluffy but none of the 3 were naked. All three of them are 1 1/2 years old. Just interesting.

Well, my family and I have lived in this area our whole whole lives. We've had several different flocks of chickens, and hatched some chicks twice. We are currently living in a little town just the other side of Rogers, AR. We currently have twelve hens and three roosters, with three little "its" that are too young to tell.
