We will be going to Greer's Ferry in about 3 weeks for church camp!! You don't want any mixed ducks to take home with you do you?

jackie

Nope! ha I don't have a place for ducks. There is a pond close, but it belongs to the neighbor. Anyway, we now go to church camp at Bogg. I miss Budd Creek sometimes.

Wow! You guys have been chatty, lol!

I had to read several pages to catch up.

Jarhead... Really cute Polish chick. I had to drive thru Searcy (and Cabot, Jacksonville, LR and Benton) Friday to pick up my daughter from Girls State at Harding U, and thought about calling you or your wife and seeing if you still had a Polish chick set aside for me and also if you still had that Australorp broody available. I have a friend that wants a broody sooo badly.

I was thinking that you live in Benton or LR or somewhere close...right? We meet in HS last time, so I couldn't remember for sure which town you said you were from, and double darn it, I had my old phone so your number wasn't in my address book. I was thinking your last name was M***** but wasn't 100% sure so I didn't call information.

Are those YOUR Splash Cochins? Very pretty birds.

By the way, I have some white Cochins, but with all the rain we had a couple of weeks back, they look pale yellow, lol! I tried bathing the White Frizzle Cochin roo and another white bird, but I guess I have a little red clay in my soil or something, because they're still a little yellow. All but one of the Cochins is silver based, not gold based, so I know it's not the gold gene coming through. They were bright white before. Sure wish I knew what to do to get them white again.

Yayyyyy it sounds like we're getting closer to a meetup in Arkansas! I'm bringing all my little roos to disperse throughout the state! LOL

Seriously, I have a couple of nice 12 week old EE roos that are absolutely stunning. Blue and red feathering. I have one extra cuckoo maran baby roo but he's only a week and a half old....and I have one really nice mixed polish black roo with a very nice tuft of feathers on his head...12 weeks.

Very cherry - it sure is a cute little polish chick. Don't worry we have one for you, we are still not ready to part with any of them just yet. I will let you know, we might bring it to the meetup if you are going. Those are our splash cochin older teenage chicks. They are some of the ones the australorp broody hatched. Sorry she is gone, she is living with 19dawn76 now. We got her a good start with several birds a couple of weeks ago. Sounds like you have my last name right

and we are in NLR.

We should have a few young birds to bring to the meetup as well for those others who had wanted polish chicks. I will let you all know once we are closer to the meetup.

I just wanted to share some happy news, my DH bought me a Hovabator 1602 and egg turner and we just put a dozen eggs into it this morning :) We've got 3 Cuckoo Maran and 9 Americauna eggs in there woohoooooo! We got the eggs from a friend and I'm hoping I get at least one CM pullet out of the 3 eggs cause I already have a CM roo. By the time my hatchery babies (they'll be 4 weeks old tomorrow) come out of the Nursery/Brooder the hatched babies will be ready to go into it.

My DH wasn't crazy about me having a 'bator, but now he's already talking about partitioning our very large chicken yard for different breeds LOL Shoot he was in checking the temp in the 'bator more often than I was when we were testing the temp and getting everything ready.

It's going to be a looooooooooooooooong 3 weeks ;-)

Haha, my husband was the same way when I started with all of this. Now he has his own breeding trio of Blue OEGB!
