Ok me and my husband being newbys we made our hen house and run simple and I will have pictures for everyone soon I also have pics of our lovely chickens and ducks if anyone wants me to post the pictures but my question is does anyone use nestboxes that dont have tops or well made like boxes cause with them being in a henhouse we didnt think to make them like boxes or like a little cubby hole and ours are like a dresser droor sectioned into 2 nests and we have a few of them I know I didnt spell that right lol but my question is will the ladys lay in these comfortably or should we redo them? also is there anyone around Flippin, Mountain Home, Harrison, Yellville or somewhere there close with any chickens for sale or an incubator?

there is a lady in Shirley selling chickens on Craigslist. I know Shirley is a pretty good drive, but not impossible if she had what you really want. Just go to Little Rock craigslist and look under farm & garden.

I'm coming to the meetup in Little Rock on June 27.. Do any of you want any Muscovy duckling they are black/white, but may have some blue in them..$5 each

VeryCherry- The white EE roo we got from you (we call him Whitey) started crowing this morning! He is practicing up a storm right now!

Oh good! Is he interested in the girls yet?

Very cherry - it sure is a cute little polish chick. Don't worry we have one for you, we are still not ready to part with any of them just yet. I will let you know, we might bring it to the meetup if you are going. Those are our splash cochin older teenage chicks. They are some of the ones the australorp broody hatched. Sorry she is gone, she is living with 19dawn76 now. We got her a good start with several birds a couple of weeks ago. Sounds like you have my last name right and we are in NLR.

Oh! I read this after I replied to your PM, lol! Ok, so the Australorp has a nice new home, that's good.

I'm not sure if I'm going to the meetup just yet. With 3 kids I can't make too many plans in advance. Sure sounds fun though.

If I do come, I'll probably be bringing some Silkie chicks with me.

Not yet, he is too busy working on his crow for the girls.

Oh, it won't be long though, lol! Do you have EE hens ready for him?
